Supporting Self-Regulation and Wellbeing in the Early Years
New Brain Science is informing Practice across social, health and education about how Self-Regulation can support and improve well-being for children & their families. In this course we shall explore how an infant’s ability to self -soothe and self-regulate is pretty much learnt from their primary care givers and the people around them. We go onto to consider how supporting parents and carers to teach their children positive self-regulation and de-escalation techniques and modelling these techniques themselves is fundamental to a child’s global healthy development including their emotional and physical wellbeing. During the training we shall also address how these new skills of self-regulation and self -care are not only fundamental to the children and families we work with but also for ourselves with the demands and complexities our work increasingly brings us.
