Woodland Play

Woodland Play! Using the Natural World as a Resource **Introductory Level**

Outline

The state of the mental health of the children in our country is constantly in the news and yet the pressure on young people has probably never been greater. There are things we can do to help our children however. By providing high quality activities in the natural outdoors we can give our children opportunities to learn in a truly “hands on” practical way, at the same time as embedding a love of the natural world which can last a lifetime. By working with children in this way, we can develop confidence, social skills, a willingness to try new things and a genuine sense of wonder at the environment.

There will be a practitioner task to be completed between session 1 and 2
